Description
Join a dedicated team within the National Security Sector at Leidos as a Junior Engineering Technician! You will play an essential role supporting the Navy Array Technical Support Center, ensuring that advanced towed array systems are fully operational and mission-ready.
Responsibilities :
Assist in the repair and manufacture of towed array systems.
Troubleshoot and repair module assemblies at the component level with precision.
Construct and assemble hoses and tow cables, adhering to stringent quality standards.
Independently tackle standardized assignments while receiving guidance when needed to ensure technical soundness.
Develop components, sub-units, or simple models, and make necessary adaptations to standard equipment.
Conduct tests and experiments, implementing minor modifications to setups and procedures as needed.
Collect, analyze, and address engineering data, correcting any inconsistencies you identify.
Support design modifications through data compilation related to design, specifications, and materials.
Investigate operational failures and design changes, applying your judgment to recognize and rectify data issues.
Basic Qualifications :
A high school diploma, vocational school diploma, or GED certification.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD secret level clearance (minimum of a DOD Interim secret level clearance to start).
Proficiency in standard computer applications and Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications :
Completion of certification / training in soldering and / or fiber-optic termination.
Experience with industrial equipment used for module hosing / dehosing and testing.
Hands-on experience in electronic repairs at the component level, including copper and fiber optic repair techniques.
Background in manufacturing hose assemblies and sonar array tow cables, following documented quality standards.
Compensation : This position is covered by the Service Contract Act and offers a competitive hourly wage of $20.74.
