About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse - Med Surg Resource Team

Profession : Registered Nurse

Shift : 12 hour rotating days / nights

Hours per Shift : 36 hours per week

Experience : Minimum of 1 year

License : Active RN License from North Dakota or Compact state

Certifications : BLS - must be AHA certified

Must-Have :

Active RN license from North Dakota or a Compact state

Minimum of 1 year Med Surg experience, Float Pool experience preferred

BLS certification - must be AHA

EPIC experience

Willingness to float within the MedSurg department and between campuses

Experience working within a level 2 or higher trauma center

Experience in a fast-paced hospital environment with over 250 beds

Description :

The role involves providing care in a Medical Surgical Resource Team.

Nurses will perform head-to-toe assessments, medication administration by various routes, and care plan formulation and documentation.

Additional duties include wound care, line care, and drain care.

Utilization of specialized equipment is required including EPIC EMR, Accudose Rx, Alaris IV pumps, and Philips vital machines.

The nurse to patient ratio is 1 : 4-5 during the day shift and 1 : 5-6 during the night shift.

The position requires flexibility to float between multiple MedSurg units and departments.

Training includes shadowing in different MedSurg units, along with team expectations and campus tours.

Clinicians must badge in and out of the facility for shift verification.

The work schedule includes every other weekend and holiday, with call-in duties to confirm unit assignments for each shift.

The department encompasses various specialty units including oncology, trauma MedSurg, cardiac, neuro, observation, and medical behavioral.

Nurses will work in units that vary in size from 24 to 47 beds, depending on the assignment.
