Maintenance Technician

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ability to read and understand diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and specifications to maintain and repair machinery.
• Ability to dismantle machines, adjust machinery, and remove defective parts for repair.
• Ability to inspect or test damaged machine parts to identify repair needs.
• Ability to install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications.
• Ability to reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work.
• Ability to start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems.
• Ability to collaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment.
• Read specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance.
• Ability to lubricate machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures.
• Ability to perform maintenance and preventative maintenance duties unsupervised
• Willingness to be flexible about tasks and assist the production team as needed.
• Desire to be part of a team and actively participate in the production and distribution of manufactured parts.

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or post-secondary certificate required.
• 2+ years of experience locating the source of problems and repairing electrical and mechanical issues.
• 1+ years of experience independently repairing and maintaining industrial machinery
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be a team player and able to work well with others.
• Ability to stand continuously for long periods of time, up to 10 hours per day.
• Ability to lift to 75 lbs. on a continuous basis for 100% of working hours.
• Ability to frequently lift cartons above (up to 8 feet overhead) or below shoulder level.
• Ability to walk, stand, push, pull, bend, twist, squat, climb, kneel, and stoop on a repetitive basis.
• Ability to utilize hand / eye coordination and manual dexterity to include grasping and holding
