Position Summary
The Senior Managing Director, Employee Relations will lead Intercare's Employee Relations Wing, ensuring the organization maintains a respectful, compliant, and consistent workplace. This executive leader is responsible for managing employee risk, supporting policy enforcement, and coaching leaders through sensitive employment matters. The role is essential to Intercare's operational integrity and employee trustand serves as a critical counterpart to the Employee Experience function.
Salary : Starting at 150k
Key Responsibilities
Employee Investigations : Lead the review, documentation, and resolution of workplace complaints and investigationsCompliance & Policy : Ensure HR policies align with current employment law and are consistently appliedDisciplinary Process : Oversee all formal disciplinary actions and ensure fair, timely documentationOffboarding & Risk Management : Manage sensitive terminations and offboarding processes in a compliant, compassionate mannerManager Coaching : Serve as a key partner to leaders navigating complex personnel situations, including legal exposure and conflictMediation & Conflict Resolution : Lead or coordinate efforts to resolve interpersonal issues across teams and locationsDocumentation & Reporting : Build consistent, accurate documentation and maintain audit-ready employee relations recordsQualifications
10+ years in HR or employment law, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role focused on employee relations or labor complianceStrong knowledge of California and federal labor regulationsExceptional ability to manage investigations, assess risk, and apply sound judgmentExperience in developing scalable ER policies in a high-growth or healthcare settingExcellent communication, discretion, and objectivity in sensitive conversationsProven track record of building trust with managers and staff in difficult momentsOutcomes & Success Measures
