Responsibilities Work in the Emergency Department of a regional hospital serving a diverse patient population from neonates to geriatric Level II Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center with 33-bed main ED, trauma / resuscitation bays, behavioral health and high-acuity pods Handles 150-180 patients daily with a heavy trauma population, including critical cardiac, pediatric, sepsis, DKA, and stroke cases Typical RN patient ratios are 1 : 4-5 Uses Epic for charting, with Omnicell and Alaris equipment Variable 12-hour shifts with scheduling to fill staffing gaps; will not work both days and nights within the same week Potential to work every weekend depending on staffing needs No on-call responsibilities Floating to Med / Surg, PCU, or ICU as a task nurse within scope of practice Responsible for care of all acuity levels, utilizing strong critical thinking, communication, and prioritization skills Expected to participate in evidence collection for sexual assault cases, with 24 / 7 access to a SA Quality Coordinator for support Strong team environment with 24 / 7 physician, NP, charge nurse, techs, RT, radiology, pharmacy, and security support Orientation includes 8 hours of facility introduction, 4 hours ED-specific education, and at least two 12-hour unit shifts Navy scrubs required Free parking available Holidays and RTO require manager approval; no time off during first 3 weeks of August annually First-time travelers are not eligible Returned permanent staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler Requirements Active SD or compact RN license required Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience, excluding travel experience; consideration possible for 1.5 years ED experience with additional acute care background Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC, and PALS certifications required; CPI, MAB, or MOAB preferred Completion of a nursing program approved by a board of nursing Comfort with sexual assault patient care and evidence collection procedures Ability to perform ESI assessments and triage effectively Experience with Epic EMR preferred Must reside more than 100 miles from any Monument Health facility Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-630558.
