SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for managing contract and negotiated projects during the detailing, fabrication, delivery and project close-out phase.
Oversee Project Management of a variety of structural fabrication projects.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Review contract documents and specifications to ensure all requirements are distributed to appropriate personnel.
- Establish project sequence and specific milestone dates through communication with Customer and Internal Departments.
- Maintain project schedules and communicate project timelines with Drafting, Purchasing, Production, Transport and Sub-contractors.
- Maintain continuous communication with project Customer, Engineers, Architects, Erectors and Sub-Contractors.
- Review costs associated with Notifications of Change and back charges.
- Compile and analyze job costing reports and investigate significant variances.
- Work with all key personnel to ensure compliance with contract documents.
- Provide support to estimating.
- Purchasing and contracting vendor and sub-contractor resources.
- Enhance relationships with clients through customer communications.
- Understand and identify opportunities to cross-sell products for the other business units within TrueNorth Steel.
- Backup to estimators when needed.
- Prompt and dependable attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALITIES
- Must have general computer experience along with experience using spreadsheet and word processing programs.
- Ability to read and understand plans and specs.
- Good communication skills.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate’s Degree in Architectural Drafting and Estimating, Construction Management, or equivalent work experience in a related field preferred.
- Two to three years related experience preferred.
