About the Department / College
The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program at NAU is housed within the Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training in the College of Health and Human Services. The DPT Program offers one hybrid and two residential DPT programs, including locations at the Phoenix Bioscience Core (PBC) and on the Flagstaff Mountain Campus. The program collaborates with community and academic partners to increase access to physical therapy education and prepare a diverse workforce.
About the Position
The NAU DPT Program uses Competency and Entrustment-Based Education (CEBE), integrating learning outcomes and assessments across didactic and clinical education. The program seeks a highly motivated faculty member who embraces the CEBE paradigm and uses technology to enhance health professions education. The department welcomes applications from candidates with expertise across primary areas of physical therapy practice and a diverse faculty team.
This is an on-site position requiring work primarily at an NAU site, campus, or facility, with rare remote work opportunities.
12 month, full-time, non-tenure track position, starting July 1, 2025 in Phoenix, Arizona.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
A faculty member teaching and conducting scholarly activities in a physical therapy curriculum should have a deep understanding of foundational concepts, evidence-based practice, and research acumen. The role requires effective teaching methods, clinical proficiency, clear communication, collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, and a commitment to continuous learning to advance the field of physical therapy.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include teaching and scholarly activities in various areas of the physical therapy curriculum, contributing to curriculum development, engaging in research and scholarship, and collaborating with colleagues to implement the CEBE model and support student learning.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and related experience. NAU offers a benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance; participation in retirement plans; sick leave, holidays, and tuition reduction for employees and qualified family members.
