Experience : 1 year ED experience within the past year preferred, additional 2-5 years nursing experience is a plus.

License : RN License Required

Certifications :

BLS

NIHSS

Preferred : TNCC, CPI / MOAB, CEN

Must-Have :

• General ED Skills
• Strong IV Skills
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation / monitoring
• Foley placement / management
• NGT placement / management
• Knowledgeable in STEMI / CVA / Sepsis treatments
• Medication titration

Description :

Level IV Trauma Center with a Level III NICU.

General patient types include neonates to geriatric patients.

10-15% of the patient population consists of pediatrics.

Common patient presentations include chest pain, dizziness, syncope, strokes, sepsis, orthopedic issues, respiratory distress / failure, STEMI, and COVID.

Daily average of 100-200 patients.

Patient ratios are RN : 1 : 3-4 during the day and 1 : 4-5 at night.

Support on the unit includes 24 / 7 receptionists and a charge nurse who will take a patient assignment as needed.

An ED educator is available Monday through Friday.

Phlebotomy support is provided for peripheral blood draws as needed.

There is a resource nurse / flow nurse on duty during peak hours.

Respiratory therapy is available 24 / 7.

Telemetry monitoring is conducted at the bedside and at the nurses' station without a tele tech.

Technology used includes EMR, IV pumps, and medication dispensing systems.

Travelers may float based on facility needs but will not take patient assignments.

Travelers are expected to assist with various tasks as required.

Scrub color should be professional; no camouflage, denim, or hoodies.

Free parking is available in designated areas.
