Surgical Technologist First Assist

Pay Range : $32.58 - $48.87

A successful candidate's actual pay rate will be based on several factors including relevant experience, skills, training, certifications and education.

Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) is seeking a Surgical Technologist First Assist to join our Surgery Procedures-General unit. Ideal candidates are patient focused, mission driven caregivers looking for an opportunity to apply clinical knowledge in a fast-paced environment.

Provides direct support to surgeon and clinical team throughout perioperative phase of care. Positions and preps patients prior to surgery, ensures clear visibility for the surgeon by using instruments such as retractors and sponges, controls bleeding, closes surgery sites and properly dresses wounds. Assists in maintaining an effective operating theater and optimizes procedural care.

Opening January 2026 : Brand new, state of the art Operating Rooms!

• Department : Surgery
• Core Function : Surgical Tech
• Schedule : Full-Time Days (40 hours per week). On call / weekend rotation, currently on a 5-day rotation (so every 5th day you would be on call at the time the shift ends or if it's a weekend day it would be for 24hrs). Buddy call would start midway through orientation and then independent responsibilities would start once off orientation
