Description :

The Mental Health Professional III works with a dynamic, interdisciplinary team of emergency room and psychiatry providers.

This role provides high-quality, patient-centered care.

As an independently licensed professional, the role involves performing psychiatric assessments and first evaluations for involuntary commitment both in-person and via telehealth.

After evaluation, collaboration occurs with emergency room physicians and psychiatrists to make level of care determinations.

The professional coordinates treatment and discharge plans as part of this process.

The Mental Health Professional III serves as a resource to the broader care team.

This includes assisting with de-escalation in crisis situations.

Guidance is provided through the involuntary commitment process.

Information is also given regarding inpatient hospitalization and community resources.
