Location : Springfield, IL 62781 (Central Illinois healthcare jobs)

Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse

Facility : Acute Care Hospital, Level I Trauma Center

Start Date : November 17, 2025

End Date : February 16, 2026

Duration : 13-week nursing contract

Shift : 4x10-hour days (06 : 15 - 16 : 45)

Hours per Week : 40

Estimated Weekly Pay : $2650 - $2720

On-Call : 1-2 nights per week and every 4th weekend

Charting : Cerner EMR

Scrub Color : Provided

Parking : Free permit provided

CVOR Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of recent Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) or trauma / major OR nursing experience required

Active Illinois RN license or eligibility (Illinois nursing jobs)

BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross only)

ACLS certification preferred

Experience in a Level II Trauma Center required; Level I Trauma Center experience preferred

Teaching hospital experience required

Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical records (EMR)

Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs

Whipple procedure experience required

CVOR RN Responsibilities

Deliver expert nursing care in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) during pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases

Assist with a variety of cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and endoscopic procedures, including aortic aneurysm repair, CABG, ECMO, TAVR, MAZE, LVAD, carotid endarterectomy, femoral cannulation, and Whipple procedures

Scrub and circulate for cardiovascular, thoracic, vascular, and endoscopic surgeries

Ensure compliance with universal protocols, laser safety, and specimen handling / labeling

Participate in on-call rotation and respond to surgical emergencies as needed

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

Maintain accurate documentation and patient records using Cerner EMR

Mentor and support new staff and nursing students as part of a teaching hospital team
