Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Engineer Systems / Principal Engineer Systems Operations Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL.
This role may be filled at either the Engineer Systems / Principal Engineer Systems based on qualifications listed below
In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional IPT disciplines to implement design requirements and system architecture. You will provide engineering analysis and execution support for innovative system development, including the creation of Interface Control Documents (ICDs), review of Supplier Data Requirements Lists (SDRLs), Air Worthiness artifacts, and Technical Data Packages (TDPs). You will coordinate technical integration and problem-solving with internal and external engineering teams, and support program management with scheduling and activity closure.
Key Responsibilities :
Create and review ICDs, SDRLs, CDRLs, and Air Worthiness artifacts
Applies technical expertise to review SDRL's for technical content and determine if additional actions need to be taken before submitting CDRL.
Work with suppliers and MST engineering and / or other IPTs to discuss resolution options to close out supplier SDRL deliveries and Air Worthiness artifacts.
Perform requirements analysis, development, allocation, and tracing
Develop and verify technical solutions, integration plans, and risk mitigation strategies
Communicate technical approaches and findings at technical and program review boards
Manage engineering change proposals and support supplier collaboration

Basic Qualifications (Engineer Systems Level) :
Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline AND 2 years of related professional / military experience , OR a Master's of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 0 years of related professional / military experience , OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 0 years of related professional / military experience.
Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company.
Must have experience with Systems Engineering V-Model of development including leadership of Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) events
Must have experience using DOORS and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
Basic Qualifications (Principal Engineer Systems) :
Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline AND 5 years of related professional / military experience, OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 3 years of related professional / military experience, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 1 year of related professional / military experience.
Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company.
Must have experience with military aircraft DoD programs.
Must have basic knowledge of lab integration / test environments.
Must have understanding of common systems engineering processes and procedures.
Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience in requirements management.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with civil aviation integration and regulation
Familiarity with MIL-STD-810 and / or RTCA DO-160
Experience conducting MIL-HBK-516C Airworthiness Assessments or supplier audits
Knowledge of Range Commanders Council (RCC) IRIG-106 Standard for Data Recording and Telemetry
Experience leading technical teams and conducting supplier audits
Experience with direct interface and collaboration with customer representatives
Primary Level Salary Range : $77,200.00 - $115,800.00
Secondary Level Salary Range : $95,300.00 - $142,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and / or personal business.
