Pay Rate : $26 $28 per hour prelicensed; $28 - $30 per hour licensed; 5% Spanish bilingual supplement.

Job Purpose :

Providing a wide range of trauma-informed behavioral and mental health prevention and intervention programs in culturally diverse elementary, middle and high schools in West Contra Costa and Berkeley schools.

We are looking for dynamic skilled clinicians who can bring engaged psychological, emotional, and behavioral support to students, their families and integrate into the unique school culture with which they serve.

Specific Responsibilities :

Provide trauma-informed, strengths-based individual, group and family mental health services, including therapy, family consultation, case management, and prevention education.

Provide relevant school-focused behavioral health services including, but not limited to :

Classroom prevention education ( communication skills, Anti-bullying / Be an Ally, mindfulness practices.)

Teacher in-services on desired mental health topics

Participate on school’s intervention teams ( CARE teams.)

Provide crisis intervention and trauma response as needed

Provide family education opportunities as needed

Consult with school administration, faculty and staff on specific youth and families and on school mental health issues in general.

Participate is SST, IEP meetings.

Work with school staff, administrators, Community School Managers, and parents to coordinate services.

Provide services to clients in an ethical, legal and professional manner, including HIPAA, CAMFT and NASW standards.

Humility in cultural issues related to race, ethnicity, nationality, class, religion, and sexual orientation required.

Qualifications

Skills and Knowledge :

Experience working in schools with in a multicultural, diverse, urban community.

Understanding of trauma-informed practices required.

Experience and commitment to collaborating with parents, teachers and school staff.

Experience with Medi-cal paperwork a plus.

Spanish language highly desirable.

Masters Degree in Counseling, Clinical Social Work or Psychology.

Licensed or close to licensure preferred.

A commitment to and strong belief in the mission of the agency

Ability to maintain goals and priorities in dealing with varying challenges

Ability to be flexible in working with people and organizations with different viewpoints.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Enjoys participating and positively impacting school culture, being a proactive, engaged mental health leader, mediating and advocating on behalf of children and families, enjoys and thrives collaborating in a complex culturally rich community system

Open to self-reflection, introspection and exploring areas of self as they pertain to the clinical work.
