Job description

ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Lafayette, Indiana.

Job Details :

  • 1.5 years of nursing experience required
  • Available shift options : 8-hour, 10-hour, or 12-hour shifts
  • Guaranteed hours : 40 hours per week for 8 and 10-hour shifts, 36 hours per week for three 12-hour shifts, 48 hours per week for four 12-hour shifts
  • Patient ratio of 1 : 5-6
  • Weekend coverage required
  • Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
  • Floating required within hospital or to affiliate hospitals nearby
  • 24-hour orientation provided
  • Required certifications : BLS (ACLS and NIHSS preferred)
  • Indiana state license must be in hand prior to start date
  • Cerner charting system experience required
  • Care for adult and geriatric patients with average daily census of 34
  • Manage patients with orthopedic, GYN, urology, neurosurgery, and medical conditions
  • Handle pre / post neurosurgery patients, total joint replacements, trauma patients, and various medical diagnoses
  • Perform IV starts, blood product administration, wound care, PICC line management, and continuous bladder irrigation
  • Work with chest tubes, surgical drains, and wound vacs
  • Manage dysrhythmias and provide oxygen administration
  • Unit has 37 beds with comprehensive interdisciplinary support services

The facility features modern Cerner charting systems and offers extensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation services. The hospital maintains high standards of patient care with specialized units for orthopedic, gynecological, urological, and neurosurgical procedures.
