Job Description
The Senior Operations Technician is responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of client's portfolio of solar assets and related infrastructure, real estate assets, equipment, and machinery. This includes hands-on fieldwork, preventive and corrective maintenance, and coordination with internal teams and third-party contractors. This position plays a key role in maintaining site uptime, ensuring compliance and safety, and documenting all maintenance activities. The Senior Operations Technician will work with client's asset management team maintaining over 25 ground mount and rooftop solar projects.
Main Responsibilities
Solar Operations and Maintenance
- Perform physical electrical maintenance, including testing, inspections, troubleshooting, and part replacement.
- Monitor all solar sites remotely and respond to operational issues on weekdays and weekends.
- Conduct quarterly and annual inspections, documenting site conditions and maintenance needs.
- Maintain cleanliness, access, and security at all solar sites and maintenance garages.
- Generate monthly and annual performance reports.
- Draft and implement SOPs for safety, troubleshooting, commissioning, and maintenance.
- Source and order spare parts and manage inventory.
- Coordinate subcontracted services (e.g., landscaping, snow removal, electrical work).
Non-Solar Operations and Maintenance
Maintain our client's-owned buildings, garages, offices, and heavy equipment.Responsible for ensuring that the O&M garage is always clean, secure, and organized.Maintain real-time inventory tracking and accountability for all tools, equipment, and spare parts stored in the O&M garage.Support the maintenance of vacant land and real estate assets.General Duties
Provide input on asset management strategy and asset safeguarding.Occasionally assist with construction tasks such as inspections, documentation, reporting, and coordination.Will supervise electricians or other personnel during maintenance or troubleshooting.May involve occasional travel or after-hours work based on site needs.Communication Partners

Rhode Island Electrician LicenseTen plus years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience in electrical maintenance, construction, or renewable energy is required.Experience with medium voltage systems, troubleshooting ground faults, and working with solar modules, inverters, and combiner boxes is preferred.Familiarity with workplace safety and environmental regulations.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to summarize technical findings for decision-makers.Key Competencies
