PASTRY PREP COOK - Earn up to $460-$800 per week!
Our Pastry and Bakery Prep Cooks are integral to our culinary operations. Because our kitchens make everything from scratch, including all of our bread and desserts, our Pastry and Bakery Prep Cooks are responsible for efficiently portioning ingredients and preparing our recipes to our standards. They also adhere to our quality and sanitation protocols to ensure the highest food safety. WHAT OUR PASTRY AND BAKERY PREP COOKS DO :
Prepare food items, following standard recipes and procedures within a specified timeRead prep list and prep items, as assignedProperly measure and assemble ingredients required to accurately follow recipe or instructionsClean, organize, stock, and maintain work area, walk-in refrigerator, reach-in refrigerator, cooler drawers, prep, and dry storage area, which may include bending, reaching, stooping, lifting, and working with cleaning agentsRinse and cut raw food productsMove food in and out of industrial ovens and cook over an open flameTaste, smell, and view food to ensure adherence to quality standardsWHAT YOU NEED TO BE A PASTRY AND BAKERY PREP COOK :
Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen or bakery preferredPassion for hospitality and foodBread and pastry preparation experience helpfulComfortable working with a team in a fast-paced, loud kitchen environmentHigh level of professionalismAble to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplaceAble to read and follow a recipe to standardsAbility to work on your feet for eight hours or more a day in a confined area with fluctuating temperaturesCapable of lifting up to 50 pounds, as neededContinuous bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, and use of hands and armsMay be exposed to allergens, such as nuts, seeds, soy, shellfish, and dairyFarmers Restaurant Group was voted as one of the Best Places to Work across the Greater Washington, D.C. area.
