• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6 : 30 AM to 7 : 00 PM
• 13-week contract with guaranteed 36 hours per week (48-hour contracts available upon request)
• Overtime applies after 52 hours on 48-hour contracts
• Every third weekend and every other holiday required
• Float requirements : First to float within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh campus (8 miles) and potentially to Deaconess Midtown (11 miles)
• 2-hour notice given for cross-campus float assignments
• Mid-shift float within same campus possible
• Patient ratio : 1 : 4-5 during day shifts
• 45-bed unit caring for general medical / surgical patients
• Required certifications : Current active compact license, AHA BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years strong Med / Surg experience and 1 travel assignment required
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with mandatory checkoff class
• Skills include : PIV insertion, chest tube / indwelling drain management, CBI, drip management (heparin, cardizem), PEGs / NGs, ostomy care, remote telemetry, blood product administration, NIHSS / dysphagia screening
• Must demonstrate strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Care for patients with conditions including gallbladder surgery, colectomy, appendectomy, hip / knee replacements, ORIFs, GI bleeds, CHF, COPD, sepsis, UTI, and respiratory issues
• Navy blue scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos
• Teaching hospital environment may require precepting students and new hires
• Associate degree or certificate required
