Maintenance Mechanic

What You’ll Do as a Maintenance Mechanic :
As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing plant equipment and facilities at our polyester resin manufacturing plant. You will support operations through a work order system, ensure safe and efficient equipment performance, and contribute to a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
What You Can Expect to Do in This Role :
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair pumps, valves, burners, motors, control circuits, agitators, and piping systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment such as boilers, air compressors, cooling towers, and other process machinery.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and make necessary repairs or part replacements to restore operations.
- Ensure all plant equipment operates safely and efficiently in alignment with best practices, codes, and regulations.
- Work collaboratively with Production to minimize downtime and maintain safe work practices.
- Promote safety, quality, and housekeeping standards across maintenance and production areas.
- Work in various environments including confined spaces, elevated areas, outdoors, and around chemical processing equipment.
- Maintain tools, equipment, workstations, and storage areas in a clean and organized condition.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or management team.
What We Are Looking For :
Experience in maintenance and repair of industrial or manufacturing equipment.Knowledge of preventive maintenance on process equipment (boilers, air compressors, cooling towers, etc.).Ability to troubleshoot and repair issues in at least three of the following areas :Welding
PlumbingElectricalPipefittingMachinery / Equipment MaintenanceAbility to read mechanical manuals, blueprints, and electrical schematics.Demonstrated understanding of instrumentation and control systems.Ability to lift 50 lbs, walk, stand for extended periods, climb ladders / stairs, and operate a forklift.Must be medically cleared to wear a respirator (half-face or full-face air purifying).Preferred Qualifications :
Welding and / or electrical skills.Boiler experience or active boiler license.Experience in chemical or resin manufacturing environments.Why Interplastic Corporation?
