Department Overview
The Meter to Cash System (MTCS) Advanced Billing System (ABS) team is responsible for software development and implementation of new functionality within the ABS Billing system.
The team works closely with Complex Billing Team to assure delivery of quality products and services. This team ensures that gas and electric billings for end customers are processed and completed on a timely manner.
This team is also responsible for taking up and completing O&M work orders, and ensuring defects are fixed in an efficient and timely manner.
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable individual to design, develop, and implement business requirements in ABS using Advanced Revelation (AREV) software.
Candidate must be able to conduct a full range of programming tasks; code, test, debug, document, implement, and maintain Advanced Revelation programs by ensuring code is well designed, well written, and maintainable per the standards followed.
As a team member, you will assist in the troubleshooting and resolution of billing issues relevant to ABS accounts and analyze, recommend, and implement corrective actions for application failures in a timely manner.
Responsibilities - Maintain detailed knowledge of the ABS computing environment. Perform general Production system monitoring and support for O&M activities.
Analyze and recommend corrective actions as well as system modifications for optimal performance as appropriate. Work with other groups to ensure stability of the computing environments.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the Client Service Territory and will be agreed upon by the successful candidate and hiring leader.
This role will be instrumental in supporting project teams implementing new applications or enhancements to existing business applications supporting various groups.
Client is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting.
This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.
We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for ABS system : Implement Rates changes, O&M support, troubleshooting data issues, and create ad hoc reports.
- Active participation in functional and technical specification meetings to understand business requirements and implementation approach.
- Prepare detail designs and conduct walkthroughs.
- Perform unit test of changes and provide direction and support to testing teams to validate changes and system functionality.
- Provide support during new project initiatives and during software and hardware upgrades.
- Client Support - Provide support to the client on system operation. Provide guidance to clients regarding business requirements and alternative options not yet considered.
Qualifications
Minimum :
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
- 2 years experience in programming analysis with Basic+, Java, SQL, Excel, Word, Microsoft Access, XML, HTML, or JavaScript
Desired :
- Experience with Software Development Lifecycle
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to tailor communications to different target audience.
- Strong business / technical analytical and organizational skills
- OpenInsight (OI) software development and maintenance experience
- Working knowledge of Oracle BCS and CC&B
- Working knowledge of Window Servers and UC4 job scheduling
- Working knowledge of collaboration tools such as MS SharePoint, Wiki
- Knowledge in Groovy or similar scripting languages
- Knowledge in utilities industry and complex metering and metering systems
- Experience analyzing functional requirements and translating them into technical specifications
- Able to work independently, as well as cooperatively, in a dynamic team environment
- Ability to enhance the end-user experience
- Knowledge and experience with SOX compliance and processes.
The annual starting salary for this position is between $ 80,000 $ 95,000 annually.
