Finance Assistant Responsibilities :
- Process business transactions, keeping financial records up-to-date
- Perform bookkeeping and ledger maintenance following accounting best practices
- Fact-check invoices for payment and processing
- Monitor vendor statements, wire transfer requests and other transactions
- Post customer checks, vendor payments, and ACH payments; conduct collection efforts as needed
- Correct and modify inaccurate files and records
- Reconcile account balances
- Process billing adjustments and refunds
- Assist in account analysis and account coding
- Assist accounting manager with audits, forecasts, and other fiscal planning
- Assist financial department, other assistants, and the Finance Director as needed
- Provide backup front desk duties as needed
- Attend staff, departmental and other company meetings as assigned
- Maintain familiarity with company goals, mission and programs
- Perform filing, mailing and other duties as assigned
Requirements for Finance Assistant :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business with an emphasis in Accounting, or a related field preferred2-3 years of accounting / bookkeeping experienceExperience with QuickBooks preferredExcellent computer skills; experience in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite with strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reportsKnowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state / national regulations and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Ability to use 10-key by touch, with accurate data entry, and handle high volumes of daily data / informationDetail-oriented with good communication, problem solving, time management and organizational skillsAbility to develop a team approach with staff, volunteers and community partnersStrong interpersonal and communication skills requiredExperience working with culturally and economically diverse populationsGood judgement when making decisionsAbility to maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism, with high standards of integrity and credibilityQPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
