The Role ofthe Casual Academy Physiotherapists / Sport Therapists
Brentford Football Club isenjoying the most exciting period in its history and were lookingfor accomplished Physiotherapists or Sports Therapists to join ourteam for our new Academy.
This is a casual parttime training / matchday role working weekends and weekday eveningsplus regular travel to away games.
As part ofour responsibility to excellence we offer all casual staff acontinuing professional development program enablingPhysiotherapists / Sports Therapists to develop their skills.
We are looking for proactive individuals with aforwardthinking and problemsolving attitude who understands theirscope of practice and who seeks to develop their skills.
MainAccountabilities
- Toprovide training / matchday cover to Academy players (mostlySaturday / Sunday mornings and / or weekday evenings) within a flexiblerota
- Complete emergency medical equipmentchecks prior to matches
- Diagnosis andtreatment of acute injuries and trauma management pitchside ofgames.
- Knowledge of acute injury managementprograms and injury prevention strategies.
- Record all matchday injuries and treatmentdelivered and handover to Head of Academy Medical
- Refer injured players for additionalassessment / treatment as appropriate (A&E GP Club Doctor)
- Understanding of growth and maturation and itsimplications on the development ofathletes
- Effective and appropriatecommunication skills and high standards of professionalism.
- Awareness of the expectations of a Category 2Academy according to the EPPP
- To ensure thatany concerns you observe or are raised with you in your role areshared with the Safeguarding Team through appropriate channels.
