JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a skilled financial accountant to maintain our financial records and ensure compliance with accounting regulations at the Joint Industry Board.

• Review month end financial reports from our investment custodian and record the investment income and assets in our General Ledger.
• Must be able to prepare monthly financials on a regular basis and help prepare year - end financial statements that get presented to the Board of trustees.
• Assist the Finance Manager in the preparation of the forms 5500, 720, 1120, 990, 990T and 990PF, also reviews, approves, and signs off on requests for copies.
• Muse be capable of utilizing State Streets website on a regular basis to interact and download investment reports that are used for various tasks including the preparation of the yearend financial and cash flow statement.
• Other duties as assigned.

This job operates in a professional office customer service environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as desktop computers, phone, headset, scanner, printer, keyboard, photocopiers, shredder, and fax.

Physical Demands

Sedentary work environment with physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job. This would require the ability to lift files, pull files / forms / books, stand, bending, shred documents, open / close filing cabinets, as necessary.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time onsite exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 : 30 AM to 4 : 30 PM.

Flexibility : Must be able to work overtime when necessary.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Requirements

Required Experience, Skills, and Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in accounting is required.

4+ years of experience in the accounting profession.

Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data analysis and reporting.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred skills and qualifications

Experience in financial and non-profit Accounting.

Experience in a multinational or cross-cultural work environment.

Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

Great organizational and time management skills.
