Job Summary and Qualifications : The Associate Vice President (AVP) reports to the facility CNO / COO and / or Vice President over respective area / units. The AVP is responsible for the management of the areas / units in the department(s) under his / her direction. She / he has 24-hour accountability, for the staffing and management of units / areas under their scope of management. The AVP will also be responsible for the acquisition, development, and utilization of resources (human and material) needed to fulfill those responsibilities. She / he acts as a liaison between physicians and the patient care team and works cooperatively with administrators, physicians, staff, other managers and all customers of the South Texas Radiology Imaging Centers to provide services, which consistently meet and exceed the expectations of their customers. This is accomplished by assessing and prioritizing opportunities to improve, plan and implement effective changes and evaluate outcomes of process improvement activities. The AVP, will model behavior consistent with the STRIC management philosophy.
Essential Job Functions : + Leads multiple clinical and administrative functions, builds and maintains a high functioning team for multiple areas under span of control, while successfully creating an atmosphere that fosters excellent customer service in multiple facilities. + Directs all functions to include interviewing, work allocation, orientation and training, staff development, problem resolution, evaluating performance, recommendations for personnel actions, and motivation of employees to achieve peak performance. Is responsible for meeting unit productivity targets. + Acts and thinks independently to create opportunities for growth of the business, successfully conducting special projects and implementing complex solution to business issues. + Responsible for organizing, directing, teaching and evaluating total operations within area of responsibility, including ensuring adequate staffing. + Participates in the planning, development and management of operational and equipment budgets for multiple facilities. Provides financial variance analysis reports in a timely manner. Reviews monthly financial statistics and plans expenditures according to budget limitations. + Anticipates the purchase or replacement of equipment with input from staff and physicians. Implements the equipment purchase process. Anticipates and recommends needs for added space and needed services not provided by the organization.
Minimum education and experience : + Minimum three years recent Managerial / Director experience, currently overseeing multiple or large / complex units + AVP level experience; Experience with successful Performance Improvement and Service Excellence initiatives highly desirable; Bachelor's degree in working discipline desired.
