Job description

Mari , a Michelin one-star restaurant located in Hell’s Kitchen, is seeking a passionate and experienced manager eager to grow and advance within the hospitality industry. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of food and beverage operations with a deep understanding of fine dining service standards. They should be able to lead and inspire the front-of-house team while working collaboratively with the chef and culinary team to deliver a seamless guest experience.

Experience with Korean cuisine and in-depth beverage knowledge is highly preferred. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth within our expanding hospitality group, as we continue to develop new concepts and restaurants in the near future.

Duties / Responsibilities :

  • Overall management of the front-of-house operation
  • Assist the management team in day-to-day operations as well as administrative duties
  • Implement service and culinary standards, conducting regular evaluations to ensure consistency and excellence in all offerings
  • Handle the schedules and hours of the team
  • Handle weekly payroll
  • Hire and train the team to uphold company policies and standards
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with all regulations of New York City’s health and safety protocols
  • Work with the Executive Chef / CDC to create a well-organized service
  • Knowledgeable with HR regulations
  • Forecast daily operations and manage P&L
  • Maintain the company's standards and implement new SOP

Requirements :

  • At least 2 years of experience in a management position in hospitality
  • Open-availability, including all major holidays
  • 4+ years of having high-end, high-volume front of house experience
  • Having Michelin-starred restaurant experience is a requirement
  • A genuine passion and knowledge for food, wine, and service
  • Knowledge and appreciation of Korean cuisine and seasonal cuisine are a plus
  • A strong sense of urgency and strong communication skills
  • Able to take constructive criticism, learn quickly, and constantly improve
  • Must be meticulously clean and aware of all food safety standards
