Accounting Specialist

As an Accounting Specialist , you will use your knowledge of the business to achieve results. You will manage multiple accounting responsibilities for the team.

This is a hybrid position and will report to the USCA Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare asset, liability, and capital journal entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Summarize the current financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet account reconciliations on a monthly and quarterly basis.
• Provide financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data and preparing reports.
• Recommend financial actions by analyzing historical accruals and deferrals.
• Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
• Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with at least 1 year of experience preferred.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP’s, SUMIFS, and quickly summarizing large amounts of data.
• Additional certification (CPA or CMA) is a plus.
• Experience working with accounting and / or financial consolidation software is a plus.
