Manager/Printer, Print Shop
JOB DESCRIPTION : To serve the printing needs of the District through efficient and effective management and Print Shop production.
To support the Academy Staff as they support students as they build business capacity in a Print Shop lab experience setting.
QUALIFICATIONS : High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of, or willingness to learn all phases of printing and use of printing equipment.
Ability to supervise students under the direction of Academy Staff and manage the workflow schedule. Ability to manage the Print Shop budget, ordering, and inventory.
Physical ability to move heavy boxes, lift up to 50 pounds, and capable of working in a standing position for extended periods of time.
REPORTS TO : Choice Learning Academy Administration
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Print legally requested materials for all schools and District departments monitoring for requests for copyright violations in accordance with copyright laws and Board policy.
- Manage all phases of the printing process in a timely manner : inventory management, regular routine machine maintenance, outsourced maintenance, equipment leases, outsource printing, in-house ordering, scheduling, work logs, invoicing, delivery, etc.
- Create purchase orders and order printing supplies to maintain continuous production.
- Perform routine clerical tasks such as filing, sending correspondence, and office organization
- Promote excellent customer service skills, assist with customers, and answer the telephone.
- Outsource jobs that require printing on an offset press, which entails writing printing specs and obtaining verbal and / or written quotes.
- Operate Print Shop equipment including, but not limited to the following : hi-tech copiers;
- color copiers; collator; manual and electric paper cutter, folder, stapler; and binding machine.
- Monitor equipment leasing agreements and schedules. Recommend cost-effective measures to make the Print Shop operate efficiently.
- Monitor and guide students as assigned by Academy Staff as they build capacity in the above areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned
SALARY : Twelve-month position, beginning salary Level 36, employee benefits in accordance with Board policies.
EVALUATION : Performance to be evaluated in accordance with Board Policy on the evaluation of support personnel.
