Title : Contract Research Scientist II / Senior Scientist, Biologics Research
Position Summary :
Seeking an experienced biologist, virologist, or bioengineer to lead discovery and engineering efforts in next-generation gene therapies for rare diseases. This role involves working within a cross-disciplinary team and conducting wet lab experiments to advance viral vector programs.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead viral vector engineering projects and high-throughput molecular / cellular screening to identify novel capsids.
- Perform transfection, transduction, viral titering, and sequencing-based characterization of viral genomes.
- Apply molecular biology techniques including DNA / RNA extraction, cloning, PCR / qPCR / ddPCR, and NGS library preparation.
- Conduct mammalian and primary cell culture, and support in vivo studies.
- Analyze data, document protocols, and present findings to project teams.
- Contribute to lab operations and mentor junior scientists.
Qualifications :
PhD in molecular biology, virology, immunology, bioengineering, or related field with 2–6 years of industry experience, or MS with 8+ years.Hands-on experience with viral vectors (AAV preferred), viral vector engineering, and molecular biology workflows.Proficiency with mammalian cell culture, NGS technologies, and genome titering methods (qPCR / ddPCR).Experience in in vivo studies, protein characterization, or functional cell-based assays (flow cytometry, ELISpot, ELISA) is preferred.Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with ability to manage multiple projects.
