Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a Nuclear Engineer - Radiation Transport Analyst to join our Used Fuel Management team. Based out of our Research and Education Campus in Idaho Falls, Idaho, this role follows a 9x80 schedule, giving you every other Friday off. The department focuses on developing technologies for the safe handling, packaging, storage, transport, and disposal of the nation’s spent nuclear fuel and high-level waste.
As a Nuclear Engineer - Radiation Transport Analyst, you will apply radiation transport principles to evaluate, characterize, and model nuclear designs, experimentation, and waste management. You will report to the Used Fuel Management Department Manager and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, following direction from mentors and team members. Responsibilities include computer modeling, report preparation, technical checks, presentations, and hands-on lab work. Projects include the Molten Chloride Reactor Experiment Advanced Reactor Demonstration Project.
You will gain extensive experience in spent fuel facilities, technologies, and management systems, and have opportunities to publish work and submit proposals.

The pay range for this position is : Level 1 ($65, 064 - $133,416) / Level 2 ($77,628 - $159,228). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
Multi-Level : This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on depth and breadth of proven experience and skills.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend and work in an office and laboratory environment. The job requires hand / finger dexterity to keyboard or type, handle materials, manipulate tools, and reach with hands and arms. The job requires operation of job-related equipment and driving a vehicle. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with people is required.
