KVUE, the TEGNA-owned station in Austin TX, has an immediate opening for an experienced and dynamic Head of Technology and Operations to lead our technical and operational excellence. This critical leadership role reports directly to the Regional Head of Technology and Operations.

Key responsibilities :

• Oversee day-to-day operations for core infrastructure, studios, control rooms, post-production, and transmission for live programming.
• Lead technical support for critical hardware / software systems.
• Monitor and ensure on-air technical quality while driving workflow improvements for broadcast and digital platforms.
• Develop and execute short- and long-term technology strategies.
• Ensure compliance with FCC regulations and critical security policies (e.g., password security, vulnerability protection).
• Manage Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans.
• Oversee department budgeting, vendor contracts, and capital planning processes.
• Lead station-wide project planning and management initiatives.
• Stay updated on emerging broadcast technologies (e.g., newsroom systems, RF transmission).
