Pay Range

$100,000.00 / hr – $130,000.00 / hr

Job Overview

Pay will be based on experience; discuss with recruiter.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional structural engineering and construction management support, serving as general engineer with technical leadership.
  • Act as subject matter expert on national standards for structural designs, foundation analysis for dams and lock structures, bridges, roads.
  • Review as-built drawings and respond to RFI requests.
  • Perform quality assurance inspections, structural fabrication inspections, documentation review, general construction management from structural perspective.
  • Review construction lift plans involving cranes and rigging.
  • Experience with reviewing contractor claims.
  • Provide safety oversight, documentation, direct corrective actions for worker and public safety.
  • Assist in interpreting and enforcing contractual provisions regarding contractor structural engineering requirements, deliverables; document progress reports.
  • Recommend authorization of progress payments based on observed contract progress.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10 years of experience as structural engineer on large complex multimillion dollar federal construction projects.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred.
  • Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Tennessee Valley Authority, or other federal project experience preferred.
  • Experience with lock, dam and / or levee construction preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in heavy civil construction with emphasis on structural concrete, rebar, formwork.
  • Experience with design and monitoring shop fabrication of welded steel structures.
  • Experience reviewing construction lift plans involving cranes and rigging.

    • Physical Requirements

  • Mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments.
  • Carry required instruments and equipment.
  • Lift 50 pounds.
  • Perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other standards, meeting productivity standards.
  • Subject to variable climate and environmental conditions including extreme cold and heat.
