Overview

Performs product inspection audits and insures that quality standards are conformed-to per company and customer criteria.

The basic function is to support Production by ensuring received materials and manufactured and assembled components meet quality specifications and to facilitate the disposition and analysis of daily rejects

Responsibilities

Provides general QA department support

• Inspects all questionable raw materials before the raw materials enter the production process
• Determines whether questionable raw material falls within standards and specifications or if material requires discarding
• Documents non-conforming materials and prepares data and photographs
• Works with internal and external customers
• Audits all WIP and finished goods
• Assists in the ongoing training effort to build quality into the manufacturing process
• Sets example for peers in quality and safety
• Assists in creating visual aids to help eliminate questions regarding product packaging or foam qualities
• Follow 5s and Safety policies and procedures
• Assists in meeting productivity standards by completing work quickly and accurately
• Other duties, as assigned

• Ability to communicate effectively including effectively presenting information, comprehending and communicating detailed instructions, reading and writing correspondence and memos, and having knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures as required by the position.
• Ability to apply common sense practices to carry out detailed oral or written instruction. Ability to deal with problems involving multiple variables in continuously changing situations.
• A minimum of 1 year related experience and / or training in quality control or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• JDE experience a plus
• Excellent computer skills required
• Willingness and ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong written and verbal communications skills

• While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel;

The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and / or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and / or move up to 100 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

This position requires the wearing of Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) consisting of eye protection while on the production floor as well as hearing protection in designated areas.

• Bilingual English and Spanish
• MUST HAVE AT LEAST 1 YEAR EXPERIENCE DOING QUALITY INSPECTIONS
• MANIFACTURING EXPERIENCE IS A PLUS
