By joining the Fiber Technology and Applications Group in CertainTeed’s Malvern Innovation Center, you will support new product development, with a focus on additives for glass fiber insulation, keeping in mind the business constraints (cost, raw material availability, CO2 impact, process limitations, etc.).
Based on general knowledge, you will perform experiments, as well as propose and develop laboratory test methods to optimize fiberglass-based products.
Additionally, you will be responsible to regularly update the product, packaging, and raw material specifications used by our insulation plants.
The main role :
Working with us means that you won’t get bored, as we have many interesting projects to work on :
- Development and improvement of laboratory methods : Test and characterize new additives and raw materials for Loosefill and Building Insulation,Perform regular corrosion testing on products from our North American plants,Write concise reports and present main experimental results to a wide range of technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support plant trials; analyze test samples from trials.
- Update our internal specifications related to our raw materials, components, and products : Review current specifications and list inaccuracies,In collaboration with several other teams, gather and summarize technical data to update the specification : plant data, external testing results, lab results, technical standard requirements, etc.
Write the updated specification,Coordinate and obtain its official approval by our internal stakeholders.
This is an 18-month mission, non-extendable.
