Job Summary

The City of St. Peters is seeking a dedicated and dependable Corrections Officer to help ensure the safety, security, and well-being of individuals within our detention facility. In this vital public safety role, you'll manage prisoner booking and detention, maintain facility security, and respond to a variety of situations with professionalism and sound judgment. This position operates under general direction and requires strong decision-making skills, discretion, and a commitment to upholding City and departmental standards.

Shift : Rotating schedule across three shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and Care for Detainees : Oversee booking, detention, and supervision of prisoners while ensuring safety and humane treatment.
• Maintain Facility Security : Conduct regular inspections and uphold security procedures to ensure a safe environment for staff and detainees.
• Support Department Operations : Implement policies, maintain detailed records, and assist with compliance and reporting.
• Respond to Emergencies : Provide timely assistance during medical or security incidents and effectively manage critical situations.
• Problem-Solve and Adapt : Use judgment and initiative to resolve challenges and support smooth facility operations.
