About the role
Under the supervision of the Director of Medical and Behavior Services and the Lead Veterinarian the Pets In Need (PIN) Associate Veterinarian is responsible for providing high-quality medical care to public owned animals seen through our Community Veterinary Clinic (CVC). The CVC is intended to be an affordable wellness care option for the public that offers annual wellness exams, vaccinations, preventative care, treatment of minor acute health conditions (i.e. skin and / or ear infections), heartworm blood testing, senior blood screens, urinalysis and other basic diagnostics as needed. In addition, the Pets In Need Associate Veterinarian may be asked to develop, advance, and implement protocols, collaborate with the Lead Veterinarian and Director of Medical and Behavior Services to ensure the humane medical treatment of all animals. This role is scheduled every other Thursday from 7 : 30am to 6 : 00pm at our Redwood City location. Compensation ranges from $90 / hr to $100 / hr and is negotiable based upon experience.
What you'll do
Contributes to medical care and health management programs for Pets In Need's shelter guests, including those temporarily in foster care, focusing on identification, treatment and prevention of health problems thereby increasing adoptions and decreasing adoption returns.
