Zurich is currently looking for a Senior Construction Risk Engineer to join the Construction Risk Engineering South Team.
The ideal candidate will reside within the AL, MS, LA or TX area, and offer a blend of construction risk management and business development (sales) experience.
This is a work from home role and includes a company car with expected overnight travel of 30 to 50%.
Our Senior Construction Risk Engineering Consultant is responsible for providing :
Industry expert risk assessment services for customers and underwriting business partners, including conducting risk assessment / risk grading in the field while using Zurich technology / procedures to identify the quality of risks in accordance with agreed definitions.
High level construction consultative services to customers, including identifying exposures with significant loss potential, investigation of cause / effect of major losses and hazard / safety management programs.
Effectively consults with customers to improve their risk management, corporate safety programs and jobsite exposures / controls which can be measured for risk tolerance improvement.
Advanced level training for customers, strategic service planning to reduce construction exposures, service coordination, mentoring, marketing, and loss investigations.
This position works closely with our Underwriting business partners and requires the ability to coordinate multiple new business submissions and quick turnaround work assignments using tablets.
Experience with developing project specific QA / QC plans and safety plans.
Develop and maintain positive customer and business partner relationships and collaborate with both customers and Business partners to develop and market appropriate service plans.
Participate in Sales Team meetings and presentations to brokers and customers while contributing to fee income sales through opportunity spotting and cross-selling.
This position will have a unique emphasis on business development and selling of RE Services (estimated at 50% to 70%) including unbundled and unattached.
Final candidates will also be subject to a Motor Vehicle record background check, because this position will include a company car.
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering or Construction Field Operations area
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering or Construction Field Operations area
Experience working in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications :
Degree in Engineering, Safety Management, Risk Management or Construction Management. (Business Development, Business Analytics)
Construction Corporate Safety, Project Management, and / or Superintendent experience- mid to senior level position.
Construction safety experience with an advanced level of knowledge of construction processes, safety, quality and associated risks and exposures
Motor Fleet (both regulated and non-regulated) experience
Requires a strong demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Systems.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Professional certifications : CSP, ARM, CHST, CRIS.
Strong leadership and management skills.
