SOURCING CONTRACT ANALYST - PURCHASING
Position Summary
The primary purpose of the Sourcing Contract Analyst is to be accountable and responsible for analytical duties related to contracting and negotiating supplies, services, and equipment throughout the Aultman Health Foundation (AHF); ensure appropriate utilization of contracts by Aultman colleagues; and evaluate products and services under consideration for procurement. The role is critical in supporting clinical and operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and cost-effective sourcing within the healthcare environment.
Department Summary
Aultman's Sourcing and Contracting Department leads the development and execution of supply chain strategies for clinical and non-clinical products and services, overseeing more than $500 million in annual contractual expenditures. The department drives cost optimization, standardization, and supplier performance management while collaborating closely with clinicians, physicians, executive leadership, and other departments to support high-quality, cost-effective patient care. Through advanced analytics, robust supplier management, and continuous process improvement, the team ensures strategic alignment with the organization’s mission and values, fostering a culture of partnership and operational excellence across the health system.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent combination of education and / or experience.
- The Sourcing Contract Analyst will possess Clinical experience or familiarity with healthcare environments is highly desired
- Experience working with electronic procurement, Electronic Resource Process (ERP), Group Purchasing Organization (GPO), Inventory, and contract management systems.
- Advanced knowledge of computer systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.
- Six Sigma or Lean Experience preferred.

Maintain knowledge base of healthcare industry trends, product developments, and the healthcare GPO industry.Utilize Infor ERP, Vizient GPO, and other supply chain analytical tools to identify potential cost reduction opportunities.Use data to measure supply outcomes, contract compliance, quality, standardization, and enable improvement.Assist with identifying and developing cost reduction strategies, implementation plans and analyzing the financial impact of supply and service contracts to maximize the organization’s financial performance while maintaining clinical outcomes.Work closely with key stakeholders, including clinical, physician, and executive leadership, to understand needs and priorities while also guiding them in recognizing contract requirements and associated metrics.Effectively manage vendor relationships to align with the organization’s mission and goals. Monitor supplier performance, facilitating regular business reviews, and ensure alignment with hospital objectives. Monitor compliance with GPO and / or Local contracts and standardization initiatives.Partner with vendors and suppliers to assure that they are adhering to Aultman’s Health Care Industry Representatives' policies and procedures and communicate the importance of participation in Aultman’s vendor compliance program.Collaborate with legal, IT, and compliance teams to ensure contracts meet all regulatory and operational requirements.Coordinate with IT and Clinical Engineering departments to assess new technologies, digital health solutions, and medical devices for contract negotiation and implementation.The Sourcing Contract Analyst will assist the Contract Administrator in establishing and maintaining contracts database system to track, monitor, and record contract data for the healthcare network. This includes ensuring all contract details for all GPO National, Local, Direct and other contract types are up-to-date and accessible for audits and compliance reviews.Work with Procurement Specialists to ensure supply, capital and service agreement paperwork is complete and accompanies purchase orders, reconcile pricing exceptions, and respond to opportunities and risks identified by Purchasing and Accounts Payable departments.Identify and mitigate risks associated with sourcing decisions, including supply chain disruptions, regulatory changes, and market volatility.Work with distributor partners to maintain pricing parity, conversions, DEDs, supply and PAR locations.Evaluate GPO and national price indexes to benchmark and identify contract efficiencies and opportunities.Review potential GPO and local contract opportunities, performing cost analysis for review and consideration.Lead the development, processing, and analysis of system Request for Proposals (RFPs). Review, evaluate, and negotiate proposals and contracts. Present results and recommendations to clinical leadership and the VP of Supply Chain for approval and communicate final outcomes to vendors and suppliers.Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for contract and supply chain performance. Conduct regular process audits and stakeholder feedback sessions to identify and implement improvement opportunities.Assist with Value Analysis process by providing clinical and financial data collections. Develop agendas, presentations and report feedback to Value Analysis Teams and Coordinator.Lead supply, service, capital equipment contracting analysis, negotiation and implementation once approved by VP of Supply Chain.Assist VP of Supply Chain in capital analysis and benchmark reports as requested to maximize purchasing power.Other duties as assigned.Department Responsibilities & Expectations
