Minimum Qualifications : AA Degree in accounting or related field of study OR two years’ experience in a comparable position. Accounting experience preferred.
Job Location : Yakima.
Salary Range : $20.57- $26.84.
Position Overview :
Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer, CFO is responsible for helping maintain the financial health of the organization as directed by the CFO. The individual provides highly sensitive support to the Chief Financial Officer and requires the exercise of independent judgment, technical knowledge of the specific area of assignment and an overall understanding of key agency activities. This position is responsible for assisting in updating or create accounting policies and procedures as required to maintain the financial health of the organization. This position will support general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
- Assist the Director / CFO in the discharge of his / her administrative duties by gathering and collating data, preparing various documents, and routing reports and correspondence.
- Prepares correspondence; reports; maintaining extensive filing system for correspondence, program contractual documents, program records and other matters.
- Assist CFO with duties related to the month-end close, year-end close and outside agency audit tasks.
- Assure that payments for payables, leases, loans and other financial obligations are made in a timely manner.
- Assure that purchases and invoices are verified, recorded and distributed to accounts correctly.
- Assist designated staff or fiscal staff by reviewing expense documents in the expense portal and follow up.
- Conducts bookkeeping duties as assigned by the CFO.
- Prepare reports under the general direction of the CFO or designated staff.
- Undertakes specialized administrative projects with a minimum amount of supervision.
- Assists the CFO in the development of procedures and best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
