The City of Stamford Human Resources Department is recruiting a seasoned Career Development and Training Manager. The incumbent will be responsible for the administration of the City’s Leadership and Training Institute, as well as the duties described in the attached job specification.
POSITION SUMMARY : Under the general direction of the Director of Human Resources, the incumbent in this position is responsible for the overall administration of the City of Stamford Leadership and Training Institute and in identifying career advancement and employee training and educational needs including contracting with trainers to provide the training.
The incumbent in this position is responsible for developing, administering, and training supervisors in annual employee performance evaluations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS : Graduation with a bachelor’s degree in organization development, industrial / organizational psychology, human resources, or a closely related degree with a minimum of nine (9) years of recent experience with a large organization administrating training and developing programs as a primary function or as a member of the human resources department or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
A master’s degree in a closely related field may be substituted for two (2) years of experience.
