As a Learning and Development Specialist III, you will function as a learning and leadership development specialist, university consultant, and implementor.
The Learning and Development Specialist designs and delivers effective education, training, and continuous learning programs aligned to MCW strategies and responsive to the needs of faculty, staff, and other MCW learners.
Act as a mentor for instructors and trainers across MCW, including MCW inclusion groups and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion.
Responsibilities :
Learning program design, development, communication, and implementation
- Confer with managers to identify learning needs and design learning with measurable outcomes
- Organize and conduct learning programs, including awareness and knowledge building, skills development continuous improvement and leadership, and professional development
- Utilize judgment and experience to adapt classes to learner needs
- Configure and deploy learning delivery and management tools
- Work with outside vendors to collaborate to bring learning programs to campus
- Coordinate participation in external training programs by MCW faculty and staff
- Coordinate learning programs and outside training with clinical health system and community partners
- Manage the communication and promotion of learning programs and tools
Build learning delivery capacity and capability across MCW
- Provide train-the-trainer development to other specialists, faculty and staff educators, and trainers
- Construct learning materials, instructor guides, student manuals, training aids, and evaluation / assessment instruments
- Provide instructional tools and learning activities
- Coach, mentor, and / or partner to deliver learning, as needed
Track, measure, assess, and evaluate learning outcomes and impact
- Manage learning management systems in cooperation with university systems owners
- Measure and monitor effectiveness of learning programs and recommend changes to increase program effectiveness
- Evaluate and assess input from learners and devise follow-up learning to meet individual and team needs
- Provide regular data and reports on learning programs and outcomes.

Knowledge Skills Abilities
Adult learning, principles and knowledge domains of culture and climate, inclusion, belonging, and or leadership and competency development theory and practice, office computing,, digital media, databases, applications, learning software configuration logic, risk management, and information security.
MS Office Suite, MS Teams or similar application, learning design, delivery, and evaluation including e-learning, remote learning, and in-person / hybrid, researching scientific and professional literature, group facilitation, basic data collection and analysis skills (focus groups, surveys, descriptive statistics), customer support, troubleshooting, conflict management, problem-solving, listening skills, effective interpersonal and influencing skills.
Learner engagement, communicating across differences, cultural intelligence, and humility, promoting teamwork in diverse teams.
Preferred Schedule :
Full-time role with expectations for coverage during core business hours and flexibility required as necessary to accommodate business needs.
Position Requirements :
Minimum Qualifications :
Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis.
Minimum education : Bachelor's degree or equivalent progressive experience
Minimum experience : 5 years progressive training experience including e-learning and course design in a complex organizational setting, excellent MS Office Suite skills
Preferred Qualifications :
Preferred Education : Master's level degree in adult learning related field or aligned evidence of continuous professional development
Preferred Experience : Learning Management Systems, MS Teams, Adobe Presenter, or similar application, digital content development, survey tools (Ex Qualtrics, Survey Monkey)
