The Inbound / Outbound Yard Clerk is a UNION position responsible for high volume data entry and face-to-face interaction with drivers from outside carriers delivering and picking up trailers in our yard and at our customer's facilities.
The Clerk manages inbound and outbound traffic flow, shipping / receiving paperwork, data entry, driver interaction, and customer calls for our Butler Yard facility.
This position, under the direct supervision of the Transportation Supervisor, manages all regulated and customer required paperwork, customer service, data tracking, and data entry.
This is a very high paced role that requires the ability to prioritize and adapt to shifting priorities. MUST be able to work all shifts - day, night, and weekend.
The ideal candidate MUST be able to demonstrate the following :
- Exceptional face to face customer service skills
- Intermediate Skills with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft products
- Exceptional Data Entry accuracy
- The ability to multi-task
- The ability to plan and manage work as required to meet customer expectations.
- Proactively follow up with customers and suppliers in a professional manner to determine the status of load deliveries.
- Professionally communicate and coordinate with drivers, customers, suppliers, managers, etc. as needed to understand and solve any delivery concerns or down time.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and corresponding work instructions.
- Additional tasks or functions as assigned by the supervisor and manager.
- Experience with dispatching CDL Drivers
- Ensure Truck Drivers are following safety protocols within the yard.
Hours will vary based on customer needs and Union bidding processes, in support of a 24 hour per day / 7 day per week operation.
Must be available to work any shift.
