Senior Java Developer – Credit Card Processing Systems

Location : Onsite – Hopkins, Minnesota

Contract Type : Hourly Contractor (Non-Exempt)

Duration : 12-Month Contract

Job Overview :

A leading financial institution is seeking a Senior Java Developer to support its Credit Card Processing Systems team. This role is part of a strategic modernization initiative requiring onshore engineering support for real-time data streaming , automation , and validation tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java development , Kafka-based streaming architectures , and automation testing , with the ability to collaborate across infrastructure and security teams.

Key Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, and deploy real-time data streaming pipelines using Kafka , Flink , or similar technologies.
• Develop and optimize high-throughput, low-latency streaming workflows for financial applications.
• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based microservices and automation frameworks .
• Integrate Real Agentic AI models into streaming architectures to enable intelligent, autonomous decision-making.
• Implement and manage CI / CD pipelines , infrastructure automation, and Liquibase for database version control.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams on API security , container orchestration , and observability .
• Ensure compliance with banking industry standards for data governance, security, and reliability.
• Provide production support and post-deployment assistance for streaming and microservices systems.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production streaming systems to ensure high availability and performance .
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of best practices and reusable frameworks .
