Bon Secours Mercy Health is searching for an E xperienced Cardiothoracic surgeon

to join our dynamic medical team in this beautiful area of coastal Virginia.

Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience

Seeking a Physician Leader to serve as Medical Director, Grow a Program and create a center for success! The duties will include consulting with patients, discussing treatment options, performing surgical procedures, and monitoring patient recovery. We will be hiring one additional Cardiothoracic Surgeon, and this Medical Director will mentor and guide the physician.

The ideal candidate is a highly skilled surgeon with extensive experience in heart and lung surgeries, also be able to collaborate with our TAVR program. We are seeking candidates with excellent leadership, communication, collaboration, teamwork, problem-solving and decision-making skills, coupled with an ability to work under high pressure.

• Full time 7 : 00am - 3 : 30pm Monday - Friday
• Average patients per day - 5-10 inpatient and 1-5 outpatient
• Caring for patients in OR, ICU and outpatient setting
• Full Spectrum Cardiothoracic Care includes rounding, surgeries, hospital consults and new patient intake
• Approx 60% Cardiac Surgery 40% Thoracic
• DaVinci Robot in use
• Dedicated CT staff and OR, dedicated Cardiac Anesthesia
• Hybrid OR as well as Dedicated Vascular room
• All adult-geriatric patients
• EPIC EMR and MyChart for virtual health as appropriate
• 120 to 150 cases per year
