Pediatric Endocrinology Advanced Practice Provider

The Division of Pediatric Endocrinology at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital is seeking a motivated and dynamic Nurse Practitioner to join its growing team of providers.

The selected candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide specialized care to minors and young adults with diabetes, metabolic, and endocrine disorders in an inpatient and outpatient setting.

Responsibilities will include educating new onset diabetics, reviewing insulin pump and glucometer data with patients, and triaging diabetic emergency calls.

The ideal candidate should have experience managing patients with diabetes, obesity, diabetic pumps, and continuing glucose monitoring systems (CGMs).

Candidates must have a national Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification or a national Family Nurse Practitioner Certification.

A BLS and PALS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, and a Florida license must be obtained by date of hire.

Schedule requirements are 8 AM 5 PM, Monday through Friday. This is a full-time employed position that offers competitive benefits and a compensation package that is commensurate with training and experience.

Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital is a 216 bed free-standing children’s hospital in Hollywood, Broward County, Florida located near Fort Lauderdale.

The hospital recently underwent a 4-story vertical expansion to double the number of floors and continue to meet its commitment to providing the highest quality and safest care for children in the region.

Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital (JDCH) has robust high-risk and congenital programs including a US News and World Report ranked pediatric Cardiology and Heart Surgery Program, one of only two active programs in the state that does heart transplants.

JDCH’s Orthopedic and Sports Medicine program is also ranked by US News and World Report as the top pediatric orthopedic program in Florida four years in a row and is one of the largest programs in the southeastern United States.

JDCH also has robust Neurosciences, Hematology / Oncology and other general and specialized surgical programs (approximately 10,000 surgeries per year), and the area’s largest pediatric and neonatal transport team, which also does mobile ECMO.

JDCH also houses the Center for Complex Care, which is a joint alliance with Boston Children’s Hospital.

JDCH serves over 375,000 children per year from around the state. Approximately 100,000 children are cared for in our three emergency rooms across the county per year.
