KYU is currently seeking an exceptional Lead Pastry Cook to join our esteemed culinary team, crafting delightful desserts and confectionery treats.
As the Lead Pastry Cook, you will work closely with the Pastry Chef to curate seasonal menus, assist in overseeing the day-to-day pastry production, and service of our kitchen.
Strong communication and multitasking skills are essential for success in this role. As the Lead Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for preparing food and maintaining sanitation standards, as well as overseeing service.
This role works with the Pastry Chef to execute the menu efficiently and consistently. The Lead Pastry Cook is knowledgeable of pastry cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and processes.
The Lead Pastry Cook at KYU LV take ownership of preparing ingredients, managing their stations, and creating dishes according to restaurant recipes and specifications.
Ultimately, you will play a crucial part in ensuring customer satisfaction and the growth of our restaurant.
Responsibilities :
Properly set up and stock the station for daily service.
Follow instructions provided by the Chef Team.
Ensure that food preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards.
Cooking menu items in cooperation with the kitchen team
Monitoring tickets - including allergy and special-request notes
Keeping station clean, organized, and efficient
Rotating inventory correctly. FIFO enforced
Ensuring that all nutrition and sanitation standards are followed
Monitoring baking ingredient inventory needs
Carefully and consistently plating dishes with finesse and cleanliness
Actively filling out all check-lists, DOH logs, and prep-lists
Prepare ingredients and handle baking equipment with proficiency
Create pastries, baked goods, and confections following designated recipes
Skillfully decorate pastries and desserts to ensure appealing and tasteful presentation.
Ensure adherence to safety and health regulations
Effectively communicate with Pastry Chef or Chef on duty
Skills and Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
Certificate in Culinary Arts, Baking and Pastry Arts, or related experience.
Minimum of 3 - 4 years of experience as pastry cook or in a similar roll
Excellent communication and organizational skills
