Coordinator, Regulatory Affairs
Summary
The Coordinator of Regulatory Affairs leads and coordinates the organization-wide compliance with regulatory requirements established by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Illinois Department of Public Health, The Joint Commission and other pertinent regulatory agencies.
The Coordinator serves as a resource and educational consultant regarding quality initiatives, data collection and regulatory standard compliance.
The Coordinator remains aware of accreditation and governmental requirements related to regulatory standards and quality initiatives while facilitating performance improvement initiatives as needed.
The Coordinator exemplifies the Rush Copley mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with organization policies and procedures.
This position works closely with multidisciplinary team members to assure the highest degree of evidence-based practice is provided, keeping the care and safety of all patients as a top priority.
The Coordinator of Regulatory Affairs plays a key role in regulatory survey leadership and coordination.
Position Requirements :
Education : Bachelors’ degree or higher education required.
Certifications : Certified Professional of Healthcare Quality or Registered Health Information Administrator certifications required within 2 years of hire.
Special Skills : Strongproject management and innovation skills. Possesses an in-depth understanding of regulatory compliance and rapid cycle improvement methodologies.
Ability to interact with all members of the interdisciplinary team and to build collaborative relationships. Knowledgeable of comparative databases, risk adjustment, statistical process control methods, and decision support tools.
Able to work independently with effective follow through and accountability. Working knowledge of CMS Conditions of Participation, State Licensing Code and The Joint Commission standards.
Experience : 3-5 years in current acute care setting with progressive quality improvement, regulatory compliance and leadership responsibilities
