Nursing Assistant Meg Surg Part Time Days Position Summary :

\n

Under the direction of the Nurse, performs sub-professional duties including providing patient care to meet the needs of activities of daily living; operation and maintenance of equipment. Takes and records vital signs and I / Os. Assists licensed staff and physicians as directed within approved standards. Performs other related duties as directed. Assumes the responsibility for meeting the basic needs of all patients assigned. Provides care to a patient population ranging from infant to geriatric, unless otherwise indicated. Works collaboratively with the health care team, is customer focused and strives to meet unit and hospital goals. Provides quality care according to established practice standards and guidelines for the area(s) assigned. Must be willing / able to float to other (comparable) nursing units, as requested / needed. Transports patients to and from the OR and various departments within the hospital. Must be familiar with all departments within the facility as well as all regulations of the hospital. Must be able to help position patients, assemble and troubleshoot room equipment, assists in the OR rooms, PACU and OPS with lifting and moving patients. Maintains knowledge of surgical asepsis and procedures and assists with surgical preps. Responsible for the cleaning of stretchers and OR rooms in between surgical cases.

Education / Other Qualifications :

\n

Minimum Education : High school diploma or equivalent required.

\n

Minimum Experience : Minimum of six months of work experience preferred. Required

\n

Certifications / Registrations / Licenses : CNA, and / or completion of Nursing Fundamentals from an accredited Nursing Curriculum with the intention to complete a nursing degree required. American Heart Association BLS CPR certification required.
