The pharmacy at Barnes-Jewish uses an integrated practice model with more unit-based positions. Here, department staff has access to a number of drug information resources, including many online references accessible from department computers.
An on-site drug information center provides support for more in-depth questions. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Ensures the prompt and accurate preparation and dispensing of medications according to prescription orders from practitioners authorized by law to prescribe.
Instructs, coordinates and monitors the work activities of staff to meet patient and customer needs in accordance with the rules and regulations for pharmacy operations.
Responsibilities Manages individual(s) including but not limited to : hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans.
Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet / support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
Assists with pharmacy operations and integration with other departments. Provides pharmaceutical care appropriate to the needs and age of the patients served.
Interprets patient data to identify, prevent, and resolve drug therapy problems and ensures safe and effective drug therapy.
Coordinates and reviews the work of Pharmacists, Technicians and Students. Assists in development and enforcement of pharmacy policies and procedures in accordance with all hospital policies and governmental regulations May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and / or expense budgets and having direct responsibility for adhering to those goals.
This includes responding to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals. Minimum Requirements Education Bachelor's Degree - Pharmacy Experience
