Job Summary:
The Advanced Machine Operator I is an advanced operator one or more lithium-ion battery cell production machines within a variety of departments, including many clean-room environments. Machine types may be inspection, and conveyance machines. Operators also perform related machine and work area upkeep (6S), material movement, conduct basic analysis and sustain production logs. Operators work across a team to ensure safe and high-quality product. In this role, you will be required to maintain active communication with co-workers and Maintenance Technicians for quality and production related issues. When necessary, elevate these issues to management or the appropriate personnel. Maintain shift logs and QC records for the assigned areas. The individual must work and comply with safety working standards, practice, and all environmental regulations in addition to all company rules and policies.
Essential Duties:
- Understand the upstream process production mechanism and battery design so that when a quality issue occurs due to the influence of upstream process, then provide recommendations, confirmation, project management, and strive to prevent recurrence.
- Compare what was seen with various data the production floor and implement activities that improve operation and quality by utilizing data that is not biased to either side, and lead to predictive management.
- Proven MO2/SMOI experience in all related processes.
- Understands fully and always works in compliance with SOP and safety standards.
- Advanced knowledge with MES and X-500 procedures.
- Partners with department Peer Trainers and Production training to advance the skills of fellow team members.
- Is considered a role model to staff and guides others to perform to Standard Operating Procedures correctly and effectively.
- Demonstrates sensitivity to other people, their learning styles, and their diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work with others at all levels in organization to achieve training goals and solve problems.
- Ability to analyze, estimate workload and perform multi-tasking.
- Facilitate learning, collaboration and interactions between employees, shift leads and supervisory personnel that lead to productive and positive outcomes.

- Maintains a clean and safe work area “6S” (Sort, Shine, Set-in Order, Standardize, Sustain, Safety)
- Knowledge and experience with 6S, SWI, Safety audits to include tracking and understanding of HPC/SQCDP board functions.
- Understands department workflow, processes & detailed oriented.
- Can support short-stop of equipment, cleaning and support and give guidance to abnormal situation after direction provided by the superiors.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:
- To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees, wearing PPE is a requirement for some roles at PENA and may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

Education:
- Basic/Required: None
- Preferred: High School Diploma, GED (General Education Development) or equivalent
Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of SMOI experience in related area.
- Must have working-level knowledge of the Business Level English Language, including reading, writing, and speaking.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Able to analyze data.
- Previous experience in a warehouse/manufacturing environment, automation, or assembly is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of soft skills affecting the overall functioning of training.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Excellent evaluative assessment and training skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal abilities.
- Must be able to motivate team members, and work in a high performing team environment.
- Must have a safety conscientious attitude.
- In the absence of a shift lead, must be able to make safe, business minded, conscientious decisions when issues arise.
- Must be able to pass a forklift, electric pallet jack and manual pallet jack certification.
- Be able to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for specific competencies, access online forms and policies.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
Preferred License(s):

- PAPR and/or Respirator fit test for specific areas as assigned including annual recertification.
- Must have current and continued certifications across process to include but not limited to LOTO, confined space, (Mixing and Cathode), etc.
