Description : Restraints Engineer

We're currently looking for a Restraints Engineer to join our team in Farmington Hills, MI for a short-term assignment from February through June 2024.
Job functions include but are not limited to :
Design / development of various restraint system components to ensure that both component and overall vehicle crashworthiness requirements and regulations are achieved.
Restraint system components for which an engineer is responsible will potentially include seatbelts, front / side / rollover airbags, crash detection sensors, and steering wheels.
Interfacing with internal engineering departments (Safety, Body Design, Interior Trim, etc.), non-engineering departments (Styling, Product Planning, Manufacturing, purchasing, etc.) and Suppliers to ensure that restraint system is optimally packaged within the vehicle and will meet customer expectations.
Managing suppliers to ensure components meet Quality, Cost, and Timing requirements.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical, Electrical).
Strong analytical and technical skills.
Strong skills in Microsoft Office.
1-2 years automotive engineering experience (Design & Release or Safety) and CAD skills preferred no new grads
Limited travel may be required
Engineering degree required, BSME preferred, Biomedical or EE are fine
Airbag development projects, keep the project going, manage timelines and cost release changes and solve issues, but at least keep the project running
Restraints is preferred, but can manage with design / release experience
