Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Critical Care Float RN with at least one year of experience and a current Michigan RN license to work night shifts in multiple ICU and med-surg units.

Responsibilities

  • Float position covering critical care areas including TCU, CSU, MICU, NCCU, and med-surg units as needed
  • Patient ratios are 2-3 : 1 in ICU and 4-6 : 1 in med-surg units
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19 : 00 to 7 : 30
  • Every other weekend shifts are required
  • Assigned to work the full week of orientation
  • Travelers are prioritized to float before staff
  • Must complete modules during orientation and annually, modules are self-reported
  • Return staff allowed if not employed within the past 6 months
  • Only one holiday RTO allowed, either the holiday or the day before / after, not both
  • Locals accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions
  • Team provides care across multiple specialty and general units depending on staffing needs

    • Requirements

  • Active MI RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum of 1 year RN experience required
  • Current ACLS (AHA) and BCLS (AHA) certifications required
  • Open to first-time travelers
  • References required for consideration
  • Proof of flu vaccination required or exemption documentation within 48 hours of signing contract
